More Than Medicine: UAB Hospital Shares Joy With Local Families

UAB Hospital employees filled the West Pavilion lobby Wednesday with brand-new bicycles and hundreds of toys for Birmingham children as part of the hospital’s annual holiday toy drive. The donations benefit the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program, helping children who might otherwise go without gifts this Christmas.

The event is part of a long-standing partnership between UAB and the Salvation Army, which began in 2011. Each year, hospital staff donate toys and bicycles, spreading holiday cheer to families across the area. This year alone, employees contributed more than 250 bikes and hundreds of toys.
