Bessemer City Middle School coding robotics team wins national title

BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) – A group of Bessemer City middle schoolers are now national champions after winning the 2025 Coders E-League Robotics Competition.

For the first time this year, 7th graders from Bessemer City Middle School took on coding — basically writing out instructions for robots to tell them how to move. It’s a complicated skill that is helping set up these young students for success.

“I want to be a CEO of my own technology business, and dealing with technology you deal with a bunch of codes so coding hands-on early in life will help me achieve my goals,” said Jeremiah Freeman, a 7th grader on the team…
