Birmingham police make 100 arrests in weekly crime reduction efforts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Enforcement Division made 100 arrests during the week of Dec. 1–7, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in the city.

The arrests included 39 felony charges and 61 misdemeanors. Officers also seized 20 firearms and impounded eight vehicles.

In addition to the arrests, the division conducted 92 traffic stops and issued 183 uniform traffic citations, with 18 for speeding. Officers made 77 citizen contacts and assisted patrols 15 times…
