Neighbors react to deadly shooting that claimed the life of 76-year-old Birmingham man and 43-year old father of 7 from Tennessee

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham police continue to investigate a double homicide and after arresting 35-year-old Jasmine Allen in Bessemer, two hours after shots rang out in Ensley on Saturday night.

Birmingham police have now identified the shooting victims as 76-year-old Carlton Allen, of Birmingham, and 43-year-old Sonny Arrington, of Clarksville, Tennessee. We’ve also learned after speaking with a friend of the victim, Briana Ballard, that Sonny Arrington was a married father of seven who sold cars for a living.

Ten evidence markers were still visible Monday night beside bullet holes on the front door of the home on 20th Place Ensley where police said the shooting took place.
