Three Charged With Capital Murder in Brutal Beating Death of Bessemer Man

BESSEMER — Three people are behind bars and facing capital murder charges after authorities say they brutally beat and robbed a Bessemer man in an attack so violent that investigators believe the suspects punched, kicked, stomped, and struck him with a gun.

Court records made public Monday identify the suspects as 41-year-old Jimmy Lee Wells, 31-year-old Antwaniqua Vannae Smith, and 37-year-old Ronald Ray Ross Jr. All three are charged with capital murder in the killing of Jarrett Kevar Parker.
