BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – St. Clair County Schools have reportedly taken “proper disciplinary application” after photos circulated of students and staff smoking cigars in the UAB locker room following their win in the 5A State Championship game.
WBRC contacted St. Clair County Schools about the photos circulating on social media. When asked about disciplinary action for students in the photos, St. Clair County Superintendent Rusty St. John replied saying a formal investigation was conducted.
“Winning a state championship is a historic achievement for the Moody community; however, certain actions by a small number of our student-athletes and staff members have unfortunately dampened the celebration,” wrote St. John. “We do not condone the improper conduct of those involved, and we apologize to the AHSSA and Protective Stadium for their actions.”…
