‘We are discouraged’: Pelham homeowners impacted by 2021 flooding still waiting for FEMA aid

PELHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The headaches continue for hundreds of homeowners in Shelby County impacted by flash flooding that happened four years ago.

It was October 2021 when flood water impacted more than 250 homes across at least 20 neighborhoods in Pelham, and neighbors are still waiting for federal aid.

“As I was carrying the last of the stuff out for us to leave, I was wading through water almost hip deep,” said Paul Spence.
