BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Jimmie Hale Mission’s warming station has been open since Saturday night, and with the cold weather coming in Sunday, those at Jimmie Hale say they are ready to provide a warm place to stay for anyone who needs it.
“They’ll receive a place to sleep on a cot with a fresh blanket in the morning. We do give out cold weather gear, everything that we have from socks to mittens to hats to coats to help people keep warm during the day,” said Perryn Carroll, executive director of Jimmie Hale Mission.
For some, the warmth can be life-changing…
