City of Birmingham removes tree stump blocking sidewalk following CBS 42 Your Voice Your Station report

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Birmingham has removed a tree stump that covered a sidewalk in Ensley for nearly a year.

The change comes just 24 hours after a CBS 42 Your Voice Your Station report into how the stump was left there.

Herman Webb owns the home in front of where the stump was. He said the tree fell onto his home in December 2024, knocking a hole in the roof and requiring extensive repairs. He said the city later removed part of the tree but left the stump blocking the sidewalk in front of his house.
