Funeral service held for Brown University student killed in campus shooting

(WJAR) — Mourners poured into the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, Monday for the funeral of Ella Cook, the 19-year-old sophomore from Brown University who was killed last week in a mass shooting on campus.

“Ella herself would say that the most important thing about her was her love for God,” the Rev. Dr. Paul Zahl said at the funeral service.

“I believe with my whole heart, and many of you would share this and head that. Ella Cook is in heaven with God,” he said. “The Lord himself had shown his face through Ellis confidence and love and enormous follow me viability.”

“Even the wide attention being given to her untimely and senseless death, she would be thankful” for the “bigger stage, a kind of more amplified mic to her faith,” Zahl said…
