The Lovelady Center in Birmingham has purchased a 56-unit apartment complex for their NextStep aftercare program, Executive Director Melinda MeGahee said.
“As The Lovelady Center has grown, as housing has become less and less affordable, and as the transition for our graduates has become more challenging, it became clear that developing a stronger, more supportive aftercare program was not optional,” MeGahee posted on Facebook. “It was necessary. Owning our own housing became part of the answer.”
