LEEDS, Ala. (WIAT) — The Leeds Police Department is getting into the Christmas spirit by handing out gift cards instead of tickets.
CBS 42 rode along as Officer Zack Harrison turned on his lights and pulled over a man who ran a stop sign. That isn’t anything out of the ordinary, but what happened next is.
Direct flight added for Alabama fans heading to Rose Bowl
“I’m not going to write your citation or nothing,” Harrison said. “No warning. No nothing. So it’s just me advising of that. And also, we’re out here trying to spread a little Christmas cheer. So I’m not going to give you a ticket. I’m going to give you this right here. It’s a $50 gift card.”
