Birmingham gas prices drop, now 21.3 cents lower than last year

Gasoline prices in Birmingham have decreased by 4.2 cents per gallon over the past week, with the average price now at $2.49 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 550 stations in the area. This marks a 13.9-cent drop from a month ago and a 21.3-cent decrease compared to the same time last year. The cheapest station in Birmingham was priced at $2.16 per gallon yesterday, while the most expensive was $2.89 per gallon, a 73-cent difference. Across Alabama, the lowest price recorded was $2.09 per gallon, and the highest was $3.39 per gallon, a $1.30 difference.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline has fallen by 4 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $2.75 per gallon.
