BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – If you travel on Birmingham’s southside, you’ll want to prepare to possibly travel a different route for a few days.
According to the city of Birmingham, starting on Monday, Jan. 5, a portion of 26th Street South at the intersection of 11th Avenue South will be closed.
The closure is temporary and expected to take up to 10 days, per the city. The schedule could change though due to weather, utility work or other unexpected conditions.
The city says the closure will allow crews to install new drainage infrastructure as part of ongoing improvements at Caldwell Park and along 26th Street South in the Highland Park neighborhood…
