Sloss Furnaces officials say tagger ‘broke a trust’ after graffiti was left on historic building

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Officials at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark say someone left graffiti on the historic site and fixing the damage could be costly.

Sloss Furnaces posted on social media saying parts of the site were recently spray-painted.

“To our Writer/Tagger community – We admire public art and Sloss Furnaces even held a graffiti art exhibition here years ago. This week you broke a trust that you’ve respected on our historic site for many years,” wrote Sloss Furnaces on social media.

Per the post, most of the building tagged is 100 years old and there is nowhere else like it in the United States…
