BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A historical landmark in the Magic City was vandalized around New Year’s Eve. According to the Sloss Furnaces Foundation, part of a building facing First Avenue North was marked with graffiti last week.
When driving on the First Avenue North bridge past Sloss, you’ll see bold, blue letters spanning the side of the estimated 35-foot-tall building, seemingly spelling nothing in particular.
“It was a bit of a surprise,” Sloss Furnaces Foundation executive director David Arias said. “I’ve been here for three years and this is the first time that we’ve had graffiti on our site.”…
