Woman crashes into trees after robbing Leeds Chick-fil-A, gambling with stolen money, police say

LEEDS, Ala. (WBRC) – A woman is in custody after she reportedly used mace to rob the Leeds Chick-fil-A earlier in January. Police said it did not stop there: she then used the money to gamble at a casino.

Kaudija Haynes, 32, is currently in the Elmore County Jail and is facing charges of robbery, theft of property and reckless endangerment.

Leeds police said it was just after 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, when Haynes pulled into the Chick-fil-A on Ashville Road. She used mace and told the drive-thru employee to give her the bag that contained the money. The employee handed over the bag, and Leeds police said Haynes then left the parking lot, driving recklessly and putting other people’s lives in danger.
