Charges dismissed against woman in Midfield pistol-whipping of ex-boyfriend over ‘settlement money’

Charges have been dismissed against a Bessemer woman in the kidnapping and pistol-whipping of her ex-boyfriend after police said she was upset that she didn’t get any of his “settlement money.”

Bria Teona Mines, 32, was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Mines went before Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff District Judge Chuantae Brown Thursday for a preliminary hearing…
