Two people shot in Fairfield; incident linked to Ensley police response

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — Several law enforcement officers responded separate locations after two people were shot in Fairfield Thursday afternoon.

The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) said officers responded to a gas station in area of 1200 block of 40th Street in Ensley shortly after 4:00 p.m.

Fairfield Police Chief Julius Hunter said the two people were shot in the 5400 block of Avenue E in Fairfield. Hunter said the shooting is connected to Birmingham PD’s response to the Ensley gas station…
