Hueytown man sentenced to more than 26 years in federal prison on drug and gun charges

A Hueytown man has been sentenced to more than 26 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession, according to U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.

U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala sentenced Keoni Keith Gaddy, 42, to 322 months in prison. Gaddy pleaded guilty in July 2025 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to the plea agreement, officers with the Birmingham Police Department were conducting surveillance on a residence in Ensley on June 26, 2024, following complaints of suspected narcotics activity.
