The City of Fairfield police department contract with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has ended, and the Fairfield Police Department is now self-sustaining.
Fairfield entered the agreement in 2019 to receive enhanced law enforcement protection from JCSO. The contract with the sheriff’s office provided Fairfield with six deputies each day to patrol city streets while Fairfield worked to address staffing shortages within its police department.
