BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Alabama has the third highest residential monthly electric bills in the country, averaging $173, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. With the cold temperatures, one Birmingham woman says her bill has more than tripled.
Robin Moss, who lives alone in Birmingham’s West End, paid just over $200 for her power bill in November. The next month, her bill jumped to over $500. Now, she faces a nearly $1,000 power bill for January.
