BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Happy Sunday!
We are dry and cold, but we are tracking rain and snow falling in parts of south Alabama and Georgia this morning.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued in Dothan, Alabama and includes parts of south and central Georgia through the late morning hours. I would encourage people to avoid travel this morning if you plan to be in these areas. Travel conditions should improve this afternoon as temperatures warm above freezing and sunshine returns.
We are starting the day with temperatures in the mid and upper 20s. We are starting off with clouds along and south of I-20/59, but cloud cover should move out of our area by 9 a.m.
Plan for a sunny and chilly Sunday afternoon. High temperatures are forecast to warm into the upper 30s and lower 40s today. Winds will be breezy at times from the west-northwest at 10-15 mph. When you factor in the wind, it will likely feel like it is in the low to mid 30s. Bundle up and keep your pets inside so they can stay warm. Freezing temperatures will return tonight.
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday forecast: We will likely wake up tomorrow morning with sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 20s…
