A 24-year-old man was injured in an early-morning shooting Saturday in the Polo Downs neighborhood of Chelsea, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Shelby 911 received a call reporting a person shot at 12:06 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Deputies responded to the scene and found the man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Shelby County investigators also responded and interviewed a potential witness. According to investigators, the witness said the victim was in the neighborhood to meet another, unknown male. Authorities are working to determine the reason for the meeting and the identity of the suspect…
