Alabama-born boxer Deontay Wilder starring in new movie produced by 50 Cent

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Six months after his last fight, Deontay Wilder will now star in his first movie role.

Wilder, former WBC heavyweight boxing champion of the world, is set to appear alongside Omar Epps in “Moses the Black,” a crime film produced by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The film is set for release Jan. 30 through Fathom Entertainment.

“Recently released from prison, Malik (Omar Epps), a feared gang leader from Chicago’s West Side, returns home determined to avenge the murder of his closest friend, Sayeed,” a summary of the film read. “His loyal right-hand, Mike (Corey Hendrix), tries to hold their crew together as hotheaded members like 2wo 3ree (Wiz Khalifa) and Meechie (Skilla Baby) push for retaliation.”
