Birmingham restaurant owner says Messer Airport Highway flooding cutting business

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — One Birmingham business owner said a persistent issue of water has cut his business in half.

Messer Airport High runs from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport into downtown. It’s an artery that allows people to go directly to the heart of the Magic City. The problem is the artery has a blockage.

“It is continuous,” said George Sissa, owner of Sarris Restaurant. “It’s not a stop and go. It’s there always, 365 days out of the year.”…
