Thousands without power in Alabama

ALABAMA — Several thousand customers across Alabama are without electricity as winter weather continues to affect parts of the Southeast.

According to PowerOutage.us, 9,102 homes and businesses are currently without power statewide, accounting for 0.35% of the 2,603,302 customers tracked. Alabama now ranks seventh in the nation for total power outages and 10th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.

Outages are most concentrated in Jefferson County, where 1,932 customers are without power. By percentage, Jefferson County is the hardest hit in the state, with 0.58% of customers affected
