HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WBMA) — A police pursuit that began in Shelby County ended with a crash and arrest in Homewood late Sunday morning, according to local law enforcement.
Homewood Police say the incident began around 11 a.m., when Pelham Police attempted to stop a vehicle on the interstate for failing to maintain its lane, behavior officers said was consistent with possible impairment. The driver did not stop and continued traveling on the interstate before exiting onto Lakeshore Drive.
Authorities say the suspect crashed near Lakeshore Drive and Crest Avenue, then fled the scene on foot. Police units from Pelham and Hoover followed the vehicle into Homewood, where Homewood Police assisted by establishing a perimeter in the surrounding neighborhood…
