TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) – We are hearing for the first time from Alabama State Superintendent of Education Dr. Eric Mackey about his decision to suspend the Bessemer City School Board.
As we first reported, the board members have been suspended from regular meetings until further notice. The school district has been under a state takeover since the fall of 2024.
