Savage’s Bakery and Deli has moved up their closing date to Saturday, Feb. 7 and longtime customers are lining up for their final tastes of their beloved treats.
On Friday, a line outside of the bakery spilled onto downtown Homewood’s sidewalks. Nostalgia, mourning and excitement mixed as patrons paid witness to the bitter-sweet end of the longstanding bakery.
“I would like to thank the public for supporting Savage’s Bakery since 1939 and for the last 47 years that I have owned it. But it’s time for me to retire and therefore we will be closing the doors February 7,” a recent Savage’s Bakery Instagram post announced…
