SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says it is taking a proactive approach to try and reduce domestic violence, a complex crime which can be scary for survivors to speak about.
“Maybe the husband works, the wife does not work, and they have children and she has to worry about the dependence on how is that family going to sustain a living if the husband is in jail,” said Sheriff John Samaniego.
