BRIGHTON, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Brighton is receiving $750,000 in federal funding aimed at improving public safety, city leaders announced this week.
The funding is part of 14 projects totaling nearly $10 million across the district, secured by U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Alabama. In a statement, Sewell said the investments reflect priorities of the communities she serves.
“I’m so proud to have secured $9.5 million for 14 community-driven projects that will make our district safer, stronger, and more prosperous,” Sewell said. “These investments reflect the priorities I hear from families, local leaders, and small businesses every day—safer streets, better infrastructure, and more opportunity.
