Birmingham terminates former Ensley High School site $1.5 million redevelopment agreement

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — The Birmingham City Council has approved a termination agreement ending a redevelopment deal for the former Ensley High School property after the project stalled for several years.

The council voted to terminate its agreement with 2301 Ensley LP, the developer selected in 2021 to transform the historic site at 2301 Avenue J into a $55 million mixed-use development.
