HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – Court records have revealed the identity of the man accused of shooting a Hoover police officer and also, allegedly killing his family member.
Hoover Police Chief Clay Morris said police were called to a residence in the 2000 block of River Lake Drive to investigate reports of a “mentally disturbed person” on Sunday morning, Feb. 8.
As soon as police arrived, Morris said a 38-year-old male, identified in court documents as Asa Redd Griggs, pulled out a firearm, pointing it at a family member standing nearby and began firing.
