CENTER POINT, Ala. (WBRC) – The City of Center Point had already been working to demolish the vacant Woodside Condominium apartments that were the site of a large fire Friday night.
Mayor Bobby Scott said the city has spent around $110,000 to demolish three of the buildings on Shadowood Circle, but will have to wait on funding to continue the work.
“We’ve been demoing these as we get funding,” Scott said Friday night. “So typically our demo budget is about $60-70,000 a year. The last three units that we tore down was about 110. So the price is not going down, is actually going up. So we want to try to get as many demoed as possible.”…
