Birmingham warming station to open Feb. 22-23 as temps expected to drop

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — The city of Birmingham along with the Jimmie Hale Mission announced it will open its nightly warming station early next week.

As temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, the station will be open at Jimmie Hale Mission, located at 3420 2nd Ave North, Sunday, Feb. 22, and Monday, Feb. 23.

Operating hours will be from 6 p.m. until temperatures rise the following morning. Hot dinner and breakfast for all warming station guests, as well as cold-weather clothing and essential items…
