10 people laid off as Louis Vuitton closes only store in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A high-end retailer has closed the book on its time in Birmingham, laying off 10 employees along the way.

Louis Vuitton, which has a store located in Saks Fifth Avenue at The Summit, has announced that it will be closing. In a WARN list notice published Monday, the store announced that it had closed its doors Feb. 19. On the Louis Vuitton website, the Birmingham location has already been removed from its list of nationwide locations.
