PINSON, Ala. (WIAT) — A severe storm that swept through Pinson Thursday night left trees on top of homes, downed power lines, and neighbors helping one another in the wake of the devastation.
Center Point Fire Chief Brandon Dahlen said crews received calls for assistance in the area around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
“It was something we weren’t expecting initially on the dispatch,” Dahlen said. “Once our crews arrived, we realized it was actually more severe than that. It appears a storm system of some type has come through with multiple trees down, several structures that were damaged, ranging anywhere from just minor damage to structure to actual trees through homes and complete destruction.”…
