Beautiful Weekend Ahead, But Showers Sneak Back Next Week

EF-0 Tornado in Trussville: The NWS in Birmingham has confirmed there was an EF-0 tornado that developed from a right-moving supercell on Thursday. It was brief, but did damage to a few businesses.

The storm damage in Pinson and Center Point was a result of a micorburst with winds of 70-75 mph in an area of 1 mile that was 1000 yards wide.

Tonight, it will become mostly clear and cooler, with lows in the lower to mid-40s.

Weekend Outlook: Wonderful weather returns this weekend as high pressure moves across Alabama. This will bring spring-like warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine on Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be in the mid-70s, with lows in the 40s. A cold front will cross northern Alabama on Sunday night, triggering a few stray showers across Central Alabama. Lows will be in the lower 50s.

Next Week’s Outlook: We will stay unseasonably warm all week as southerly winds persist across the state. The cold front will pass through Alabama on Monday, causing stray showers with highs in the 70s.

High pressure will sit over the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday and Wednesday, making it mostly sunny to partly cloudy across Central Alabama with highs in the lower to mid-70s. The high pressure shifts to the East Coast on Thursday and Friday, bringing warmer and more humid air. This will lead to a few pop-up showers, with highs in the upper 70s to around 80°.
