Woman shot after firing dead man’s gun at Bessemer Easter gathering killed in self-defense, judge rules

Two men who killed a man and a woman during an Easter gathering at a Bessemer home nearly five years ago did so in self-defense, a Jefferson County judge has ruled.

Tignor Thompson, 41, and Ricardo Poole, 29, were charged with murder in the April 4, 2021, shooting deaths of Kendrick Felix Morrisette, 22, and Kamisha Malea Davis, 27.

Bessemer police initially said the shooting was justified but later decided to send the case to a grand jury, which returned indictments against Thompson and Poole eight months after the double killing…
