IRONDALE, Ala. (WBRC) – A teenager was rescued after he fell into the Cahaba River, according to Irondale Fire Chief Josh McDaniel.
McDaniel says dispatchers got a call for a missing person on the Cahaba on Tuesday, March 10. Responders learned that there were two teenagers and one had fallen into the water. The other called 911. They were not swimming.
According to McDaniel, the teenager who fell into the water was hanging onto a rope swing and couldn’t get his footing to get out of the water. Because of the rain on Monday, March 9, the water was running fast.
