Groups of volunteers will spend Friday and Saturday working on over 50 service projects across Birmingham as part of a collaboration of Baptist churches and non-profits.
“It has been (encouraging) to see, already before the projects have even started, just the excitement and the spirit of cooperation amongst the churches,” said Marisa Taylor, who is leading the effort, a collaboration of Southern Baptist groups, in Birmingham.
Volunteers will travel to the city from 15 different states to help out. Projects include cleaning school campuses and playgrounds, building free beds for children, replacing carpet at an immigrant and refugee center and helping patients in need of free dental care…
