BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham mayor, Randall Woodfin, held a press conference today to share his perspective on the 135 employees that were laid off at Central Alabama Water.
Woodfin shared a story about his recent encounter with a laid off worker. The worker, a mother whose child attends the same school as Woodfin’s son, spoke to the mayor about how her and her husband both worked at the water board and were subsequently laid off.
