Officers with the East Precinct responded around 7:15 p.m. Friday to the 200 block of Lake Drive Circle NE after receiving reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported the victim to UAB Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. A short time later, police learned that a second adult male had arrived at UAB Hospital by private vehicle, also suffering from a gunshot wound.
That individual later died from his injuries. Police say the two victims, along with two other individuals who were not injured, had arranged to meet at the location. During the meeting gunfire broke out, striking both victims. Authorities confirm a suspect is in custody. The identity of the deceased victim has not been released…
