Governor Ivey lowers flags for local Air Force members killed in Operation Epic Fury

Governor Kay Ivey will be lowering the flags statewide on Monday, March 30, in honor of the fallen Air Force members stationed in Birmingham who died in “Operation Epic Fury” earlier this month. The accident is still under investigation, but we know it involved their KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft.

All flags will be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Monday, which is the day that funeral services will be held for Klinner.

The fallen soldiers served as personnel in the 99th Air Refueling Squadron of the 117th Air Refueling Wing located at Sumpter Smith Joint Air National Guard Base in Birmingham…
