Central Alabama Water (CAW) is responding to a lawsuit filed by the City of Birmingham over its decision to stop adding fluoride to the city’s drinking water.
The utility has now filed a motion asking the judge overseeing the case to recuse himself, citing his past involvement with the company.
CAW, previously known as the Birmingham Water Works (BWW), argues that Jefferson County Circuit Judge Frederic Bolling can’t be objective because he used to be an attorney for BWW and later worked on cases against them.
