BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Construction may start happening soon on the Ramsay McCormack building in Ensley.
In response to a lawsuit from neighboring businesses, the City of Birmingham hired Ensley district developers to redevelop the building in 2019. The developer demolished the original building in 2021 and has been struggling to finalize financing.
The plaintiffs, including the Ensley Revitalization Committee, have been asking Jefferson County Circuit Judge Marshell Jackson Hatcher to penalize the city if the project does not progress on a quicker basis.
