Jefferson County tackles litter problem with annual cleanup efforts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Jefferson County leaders are working to pick up litter and illegal dumping sites this week as part of ongoing efforts to clean up the community.

The county removed 1,700 tons of trash last year. County officials said there is more to clean up this year.

“We wanna keep Jefferson County clean and keep the image people expect of it,” said Joshua Johnson, director of development services.
