Judge sets 2027 trial date for Birmingham man charged in multiple killings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A judge set a January 2027 trial date Monday for Damien McDaniel, a Birmingham man accused in multiple homicide and shooting investigations, as two mothers whose children were killed in 2024 said returning to court reopened their grief.

McDaniel appeared in a Jefferson County courtroom with additional sheriff’s deputies present as the gallery filled with victims’ relatives. Some family members wept, while others stepped into the hallway as McDaniel entered.

Among those in court was Temecia Sistrunk, whose daughter, Angeliyah Webster, and Webster’s partner, Christian Norris, were found shot to death inside a car in 2024. Webster was pregnant, family members said…
