‘Stealing in Calera is gambling in a Casino where the house always wins’: Calera PD identifies one suspect in theft

CALERA – One of the suspects arrested by the Calera Police Department in connection with a retail theft situation at the Calera Walmart and a following attempt to flee from law enforcement has been identified.

Brian Keon Davis, age 23, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on the following charges on Sunday, April 5, for a total bond of $37,000:

  • Attempting to elude a law enforcement officer—$20,000
  • Larceny/theft-shoplifting, $500 or less—$1,000
  • Abandonment of a child—$6,000
  • Assault-domestic reckless endangerment DV3—$2,000
  • Assault-domestic reckless endangerment DV3—$2,000
  • Abandonment of a child—$6,000

The other suspect, a female, was turned over to law enforcement officers in Elmore County on outstanding warrants.

According to a release from the department, CPD received a call at 2:20 p.m. on Sunday that reported a theft at the Calera Walmart location. Officers responded, and the suspects fled north on Highway 31 before taking Highway 87 back toward Interstate 65, where they headed south…
